Handcrafted Chopsticks Rest

HK$360.00

The design of this chopstick rest begins with a shared memory. In the local eateries of Hong Kong — and across much of Asia — chopsticks arrive wrapped in paper. While the food is still cooking, hands set to work: folding the wrapper into a small, elaborate rest to lift the chopstick tips clear of the table. A gesture of hygiene, but also something more — a way to pass the waiting, to fill the space between conversations. Our chopstick rest holds that memory in lasting form: shaped after the folded paper, made of copper and finished with tin for safety at the table. In this lies a simple thought — that the small rituals we make to pass the time are worth keeping.
