This 2019 Shizuoka Private Cask offers a beautifully vivid expression of the distillery’s K still character, where brightness, elegance and fruit come to the fore. Drawn from a non-peated spirit and matured for six years in an octave ex-bourbon barrel, it opens with notes of ripe orchard fruit, citrus blossom and soft vanilla, layered with honeyed sweetness, delicate spice and a gentle touch of oak. Bottled at natural cask strength, around 56–60%, it carries both richness and energy, unfolding with warmth, finesse and a long, graceful finish.

  • Shizuoka Distillery is one of Japan’s most admired new-wave whisky producers, founded in 2016 by Gaiaflow Co., Ltd. in the remote mountain region of Tamagawa, Okusizu, Shizuoka City.
