Shizuoka Single Malt Japanese Whisky

HK$2,200.00

This 2019 Shizuoka Private Cask offers a beautifully vivid expression of the distillery’s K still character, where brightness, elegance and fruit come to the fore. Drawn from a non-peated spirit and matured for six years in an octave ex-bourbon barrel, it opens with notes of ripe orchard fruit, citrus blossom and soft vanilla, layered with honeyed sweetness, delicate spice and a gentle touch of oak. Bottled at natural cask strength, around 56–60%, it carries both richness and energy, unfolding with warmth, finesse and a long, graceful finish.

  • Shizuoka Distillery is one of Japan’s most admired new-wave whisky producers, founded in 2016 by Gaiaflow Co., Ltd. in the remote mountain region of Tamagawa, Okusizu, Shizuoka City. Created with the ambition to craft whisky expressive of its local environment, the distillery draws on Shizuoka’s pure underground water, cedar washbacks made from local wood, and a production philosophy rooted in transparency, craftsmanship, and terroir. Particularly distinctive is its use of the historic K still, acquired from the legendary closed Karuizawa distillery, which is celebrated for producing an elegant, bright and fruit-forward spirit. With its small-scale approach, limited-edition releases, and strong focus on still character and cask influence, Shizuoka has quickly established itself as a benchmark for high-end Japanese craft whisky, prized by enthusiasts and collectors alike.

  • Store upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extremes of temperature. Once opened, keep tightly sealed to preserve the whisky’s character.

Best enjoyed neat to appreciate its full character and texture, with a few drops of water if desired to open the aromas and reveal added nuance.
